Savan is the niece of Prince Xizor, the former head of the Black Sun and most famous of all Falleen. The Falleen are a scaled, cold-blooded, reptilian humanoid species with pigmentation that varies with mood, known to be as long lived as the Hutts with lifespans on average of 250 years

Xizor died in 1090, and has left the Black Sun for three years with no designated leader. Savan has struggled for control of this criminal organization ever since, though it certainly has little hope of ever achieving the greatness that it enjoyed under the direction of her uncle Prince Xizor.
